How beatable is RW Genting Highlands poker structure?
10/20, 1000 min buyin (50BB), 4000 max buyin(200BB). 10 ante per person, 9 max, 5% rake 150 cap. The pot starts out at 6BB preflop! Most regs buyin for the maximum and occasionally you'll have tourists buy in for 1000 just to dust it off a few hands later.
Some notes about the games there.
Lots of limpers
People having tough time folding top pairs mid/bad kicker
Average pot size on showdown is 50bb or over.
Opening 7.5 bb from ep will usually got multiway.
I struggled hard with deciding whether to limp fold or just play tight preflop. Both dwindle my stack fast. Over the past few months I've noticed quite a lot of regs there, maybe it's profitable but I find it quite unlikely given the effective stack sizes. Imo feels more like a casino where the money is made from tourists rather than skill. Hands are overweighted towards value at this depth. Overall I'm at a net loss playing here. Should I continue playing there?
