I've had 3 or 4 and none of them are/were capable of toasting both side of 2 pieces of bread evenly. And all of them seemed to get much hotter on the elements closest to the outside of the unit. I know that there was a change to different element metallurgy some time ago, but why is it so difficult to manufacture what seems to be such a simple device?
