I finally got my Embark results for my dog Niffty! I wanted to do a comparison between Wisdom Panel and Embark (Ive also done DNAmyDog so I will also add that here but spoiler alert its a scam.)
When I got Niffty, I was told she was border collie (incorrect buzzer..?) but she looks like border collie mixed with maybe lab or pit bull? I just kept telling everyone who asked “border collie mix!” But then I got really tired of saying that to people because she doesnt ACT like a border collie. So I went on Amazon and chose the cheapest DNA test I could find (please dont do what I did.)
Here’s what DNA my Dog said she was:
22% American Staffordshire Terrier
21% Standard Wire-haired Dachshund
19% German Shorthair Pointer
19% Boxer
19% Rottweiler
I guess some made sense but DACHSHUND? Shes a 67.8 lbs dog and stands around 25 inches tall, no way she has dachshund in her…
So I saved up money and got Wisdom Panel!

A crazy amount of everything. So I got curious and decided to spend even MORE money on Embark (because why not?)

5% American Eskimo Dog
So between all 3 tests its safe to say I think Embark is the most accurate… mostly because they dont have a lot of mumbo-jumbo that Wisdom Panel has (Im not even gonna mention DNAmyDog. Im just straight up disappointed with them.) If you’re thinking about getting your dog DNA tested but not sure if the price is worth it let me just tell you it IS worth it!
