Endo + diffuse adenomyosis: surgery vs IVF before TTC?
I’m 34 and would really appreciate hearing real experiences from women with severe endometriosis / fertility issues.
My diagnosis:
- deep infiltrating endometriosis (DIE), including uterosacral ligaments involvement
- diffuse adenomyosis
- pelvic adhesions
- ovaries adherent/stuck
- two small endometriomas
- 4 cm subserosal/intramural fibroid
- left tube removed after ectopic pregnancy
- right tube still patent but with slow passage
- AMH 1.72
Symptoms:
- bloating
- constipation / IBS-like symptoms
- pelvic pain
- painful ovulation and periods
I received 3 different opinions:
- full laparoscopic fertility-sparing surgery (endometriosis excision + fibroid removal + radiofrequency ablation for diffuse adenomyosis)
- more conservative/watch-and-wait approach
- IVF/egg retrieval before major surgery
I also had 2 methotrexate injections for the ectopic pregnancy in March, so I’m wondering:
- how long did you wait after methotrexate before trying naturally / IVF / egg retrieval?
- how long after endometriosis surgery did you wait before trying to conceive?
- has anyone here had radiofrequency ablation for diffuse adenomyosis before pregnancy, and how was your experience?
Would really appreciate hearing real experiences from women with DIE/advanced endometriosis.
