Flying MEL–ZRH via DXB with Emirates in early June: anyone able to get cancellation fees waived/refunded beyond current 31 May 2026 policy?
Flying MEL–ZRH via DXB with Emirates in early June and no longer feel comfortable travelling this route given the current situation and Australian Government advice against transiting through Dubai.
My flights fall just outside Emirates’ current free cancellation window (up to 31 May 2026).
Has anyone successfully had Emirates waive cancellation fees or provide a refund in similar circumstances? If so, how did you approach it?
