Maya Landers Credit Card Cancellation Experience

Sharing my Maya Landers Cashback Credit Card cancellation since I’ve been reading reviews about how it took people multiple months and several follow-ups to have theirs cancelled.

Tried to cancel through the help center in the app but their AI chatbot made it extremely difficult. Ultimately, it ended with them saying I have to call their hotline, so I did.

Technically, it took me 2 days. The first day consisted of just me repeatedly calling the hotline because all lines were busy and they kept hanging up on me. This was during a Monday, around 5-6:15pm. The next day, I called at 4:50pm. I spoke to a customer representative close to around 5pm.

Surprisingly, it was super easy. I told them I wanted to cancel the card. First, the rep told me to freeze the card in the app. Then, I was put on hold for about 2 minutes. When she came back, she informed me that she cancelled the card already. True enough, as I checked back in the app (while still on the phone with her), my card really was cancelled. Got off the phone at around 5:05pm. Easiest credit card cancellation experience I’ve ever had.

I’m not sure if it was because of my reason for cancellation (migrating to another country) that made it quick, or they just improved their customer service. But yeah, that’s my experience. Hopefully whoever finds this experiences the same.
