I been a captive agency owner for a year now and I’ve been experiencing issues being competitive in my markets due to my carriers risk appetite. I’ve worked for this carrier for 3 years actually and I’m feeling like they are slowly pricing out my main area of business. Some of our affiliate lines are coming in more competitive and yet it doesn’t satisfy my management’s expectations or my contract.

I’ve been looking into what being independent could mean for my business and growth. I’m liking the idea of removing the pressure of having a “quota” and rather focus on just writing good business.
