So a few years ago, my boyfriend and I dealt with three rounds of bed bugs, all within the span of about a a year and a half. It was at least a year and a half ago, but I don’t think we’ve gotten a new bed bug cover for our bed.
Recently I’ve been getting bites and asked our apartment to look into getting us a professional inspection since we haven’t been able to find anything ourselves.
Is it possible for the old cover to trigger a false positive with a detection dog or do they only alert on new infestations? I know the dogs aren’t 100% accurate, and I don’t mind being overly cautious, but I’m worried about having to pay for treatments for nothing.
