Hey everyone,

I currently have a Heritage 150P. I'm torn between buying a dedicated CMOS camera or just stick with iPhone + phone adapter with the current telescope.

Here is my dilemma, I would love to hear your input:

  1. Is a dedicated Touptek G3M-662C CMOS (200 EUR in my country) or a cheaper Touptek Astro G2M-290M(120 EUR) camera worth buying for this scope?
  2. I know it's a great camera for lunar and planetary, but can I realistically capture brighter DSOs using manual drift and lucky imaging? Or is the small FOV and manual tracking too frustrating?
  3. In the future, I would like to try building a DIY EQ platform. But is the 150P worth the money and time for EAA/casual astrophotography?
  4. Or should I just wait? Should I buy a telephone adapter and experiment with astrophotography using this telescope, and then replace the whole setup in the future for better DSO and astrophotography?

Would love to hear your thoughts, especially if you've tried EAA or SO imaging with a manual tabletop dob. Thanks!
