I'm a 22M and this girl I've been talking to is a 26F. We've been talking over text back and forth for about a month which was fine. We text almost daily, often in short bursts of texts and then she would go silent for hours or even days at a time with no response only to continue the conversation we were having before. We had a few calls over the phone and I said I prefer calls every now and then over texting constantly because of her busy schedule. She's working part time and school and tells me she's a bad texter so I've been mostly understanding of that. We then had a first date which went well.

A few days after the date of our usual texting routine, she hadn't respond in almost 3 days from when I last asked if she wanted to get on a call to talk. She then responds and says she's having a family emergency and that was the reason why she didn't respond. I was understanding but told her that I'd rather call and meet in person because texting to me is feeling repetitive.

Honestly I feel like I'm the problem feeling like she's not interested or putting in effort, but then again a part of me says she should be putting in more effort to text me back or communicate better.

I need some advice. Am I asking too much for someone I'm still getting to know? Or his she in the wrong, or both of us, or am I just over thinking this? Am I expecting too much out of this?

Also going forward, how should I approach this? Mindset and actions.
