If anyone was wondering like I was, the Pelican 1200 is the perfect size to fit an slr and some lenses.
For anyone trying to figure out what size pelican case they should get to fit an slr, this is approximately the smallest size case to fit most, plus some lenses.
Two primes (50 f1.4, 24 f2.8), a zoom (35-105 f3.5) and an AE-1 body plus 2 rolls of film. All fit in this pelican 1200. (Plus extra battery, shutter release cable and micro fiber cloth). Only thing that didn't fit was the strap, but I'll just throw that in my dry bag. Total weight is about 4lbs.
As for why the AE-1 and not something waterproof, or modern? I could tell you but then I'd have to kill you ;)
Jokes aside, it was my mom's and its my favourite camera I own. All the film photos I've ever shot have been on this camera, so of course I'm going to shoot this trip with it.
This will be for an upcoming canoe trip, which will be 9 days in Woodland Caribou Provincial Park. Will shoot one roll on the way in, and the 2nd roll on the way out.
