MK Wako: very salty and fishy

It seems I am going against the flow here.
For me, MK Wako smells very sea- and seaweedy-like, strong nori and fishy smell. At the same time I also have YK Ogurayama that a lot of people seem to correlate with fishy smell. Ogurayama is nothing compared to Wako.

When I read about the description from other people, it seems that people describe wako as rich and sweet. It is by far the saltiest matcha I tried.
I have tried all Ippodos line, from Kanza, Kuon, Shoin, Sayaka, Kan, Ikuyo, Kyoto special, spring and autumn special among others; and it’s the first MK I tried.

I even thought that my can was fake; but it is certainly not possible as I got it from MK Japan website directly - sent to my friend’s house in Japan. It cannot be more authentic than that, i think.

I am always drinking it as matcha with the following: 2gr powder, 25ml water, 80ml oatmilk (Oatly).

I have two other friends trying it with me, and both made the same comments: salty and fishy.

Anyone else having this experience? What might be going wrong?
I stored the matcha in the fridge by the way, from the moment I have it till now.

Milk steamer suggestion for steaming 80-90ml milk

I’d like to start by saying: we live in Europe. my husband drinks only black coffee (V60 best), and I do not drink any coffee-drinks.

That being said, I recently become obsessed with a new hobby that’s strange for our household: latte art.
I am using chocolate or matcha as the base.

Now onto the question: I am searching for an affordable milk steamer standalone, that can steam 80-90 milk only in one go (I have 200ml jug). I am using strictly oatmilk because of lactose intolerance.

I have:
- subminimal nano v2, that I found to be very difficult to use
- dreo mini, the problem is I need to use twice milk needed (160ml or so, while I only use half of those).

I am very new in this latte art stuff, just recently took beginner course latte art, and found out that using steamer wand is actually the easiest.

Any recommedations are greatly appreciated. Thank you!
