Started playing last night and so far I’m really impressed by Saros’ level design, environments, soundtrack - the whole package. Despite the early biomes being a bit more streamlined/linear than Returnal, I love the evolution of the bullet hell and environmental traps. Moreso than Returnal, I feel like the spread and quantity of enemy bullets are much more varied, which combined with the shield mechanic, make the gameplay much more dynamic. I also like environmental hazards I’ve seen so far, like the platforms that trigger flame traps, or all the lasers spinning in different patterns - really keeps you on your toes. Can’t wait to play more and discover the other biomes. Oh - and I loved the first boss fight. Even though you could tell it was an intro level boss, teaching you basic attack patterns and whatnot, I thought the boss design was badass and I just had a blast, even if it only took me a few tries to beat him.
