I wanted to share my experience so others don’t go through the same headache.
I bought an O-General AC last year. Initially, everything seemed fine, but within this one year:
- I faced a PCB issue
- Then recently, I had a gas refill problem
About a month ago, I called O General customer support, and their technician came in. He said there was a gas leak and refilled it. I assumed everything was fixed.
But just ONE MONTH later, the same issue happened again.
This time, I called a different technician — and this is where things got interesting.
He checked the system properly and found that the actual issue was in the pipeline connection between the indoor and outdoor units. There was a leak at the connection point, likely from improper installation.
So basically:
- The gas refill earlier was just a temporary fix
- The root cause (bad installation) was never addressed
Lesson learned (the hard way):
When your AC is being installed, DO NOT blindly trust the technician. Make sure:
- The copper pipe connections are properly tightened and sealed
- There is no leakage at joints
- Proper insulation is done
- Vacuuming is done before releasing gas
If this step is messed up, you’ll end up with:
- Repeated gas refills
- Cooling issues
- Unnecessary expenses
- Long-term damage to your AC
I made this mistake by not paying attention during installation — don’t do the same.
If you’ve had similar experiences, would love to hear them.
TL;DR: Improper AC installation (especially pipe connections) caused repeated ac gas leaks and refills in my case. Always ensure proper sealing, insulation, and vacuuming during installation — or you’ll keep paying for the same issue again and again.
