Post Ablation Drugs
Just a week out from ablation which discovered my SVTs are actually Focal Atrial Tachycardia. I had gone to cardio to get off Metoprolol because the side effects were increasingly unbearable. Totally lucked into an ablation appointment only two weeks from that visit. Week one I tapered down from 100 mg to 50 mg of Metropolol Succinate, then had to cold turkey off while starting Diltiazem 120 mg. Took that for 6 days, then no drugs for 3 days prior to procedure. EP had me restart Diltiazem night of ablation.
Here I am a week out from procedure and a week on the Dilt. Still having tons of palpatations and more SVT episodes although they top out at 110-120 instead of 180-230.
My question is for those of you who went through ablation. How long were you taking beta or calcium blockers after? TIA
