Recently had my furnace replaced with a high-efficiency model. This left a galvanized pipe running from my basement, through the 1st and second floors, then through the attic and the roof. I've had some roof work done which included removing the vent so the pipe from basement is now capped at both ends. Can this be used as a chase for network cables?
