I am currently in the process of getting my 2B license.
But honestly sometimes when I see e-bike riders (with e-bikes that look like EV motorcycles) who ride on both the road and also pedestrian walkway, some of them even have a pillion. I feel a little confused.
Like why am I putting myself through this arduous journey of acquiring the 2B license when e-bike riders can ride so freely without restriction? No 2B license, no COE, no road tax, no petrol, no seasoned parking, etc. (They just park inside their homes or below HDB bicycle parking?)
I don't know if this is a legal gray area or what but it has been allowed to go on for awhile now with lax enforcement.
Are there any of you who were once e-bike riders but decided to go for 2B and what was the reason that made you feel the 2B license is worth it over simply continuing to ride an e-bike?
