Warning my first language is not English so if it sounds a little strange I apologize.
For context I (18f) had our school prom this pass Saturday it was so much fun, I genuinely thought everything went well until a few days after my sister had informed me of what my mom has been telling all our family and friends. She has been telling them " I spent 200 dollars on her for prom she's just spending all my money it wasn't even in my budget"....
I am not a person who cares do get their nails done or eyebrow wax I prefer to invest in my hair skincare etc I usually do my nails occasionally specifically for special events such as parties vacations you get the idea and 9/10 its presons if not having my sister paint them original plan for prom was to just get my hair done and do my nails and toes at home I paid for both my dress and shoes myself and also planned to pay for my hair. The mourning of prom my mom offered to pay for my hair since she didn't pay for my shoes and dress and I was like why not yk, when we were in the car waiting for the salon to open she asked me what are your plans for your nails I told her I was just gonna paint them at home and then she made a face and said "ill just take you to the salon to get them done and you can also get your eyebrows waxed" I agreed mean she was the one who offered. we both agreed on regular polish and then when I got there she said I should get gel instead so it last longer and asked me if I wanted to get a design on them I said no. Just a quick side note this will be relevant for later I saw one of my friends at the salon also getting her nails done. My mom also got her nails done as well so it game out to a total of 200$ for both our nails including the wax the hair earlier was $95. We get back home around 2 o'clock my friend comes over to get ready I finish my makeup early and get hunger so decide to cook some ramen before I do I offer my mom some and then she says shell just order food for me and my friend cause she doesn't want my makeup getting messed up. She orders Chinese we eat couple hours later we go to prom fun night afterward my mom take me and two of my other friends to chillies keep in mind me and my friends paid for our own meals. So this brings me to earlier a few days ago my sister had informed me that my mom has been going around telling all our family and friends that I was spending all her money and that she had to go way out of her budget for me paying for my hair nails wax she told them that we agreed on regular police and that when I saw my friend at the salon getting her nails done I was influenced to get gel polish and a design instead she aslo told them that she had to buy me and my friend food cause we kept asking for it even though we had food in the house.... I was very upset when I found this out because everything she was telling people was far from the truth and now they all think I'm entitled and ungrateful now I'm thinking I should just send her the 200 dollars so she can't keep spreading rumours idk what I should do
