I just got a new betta after a long break of not having any fish! He is solid black and emo. I named him Erik after the Phantom of the Opera 🖤

I set him up with a 10 gallon tank, two hidey holes (the monster can is cut and smoothed so he won’t cut himself), and red gravel. I figured red would be neutral enough if paired with other darker/neutral colors, but correct me if it *needs* to change!!

I plan on getting him at least 2 plants. Should I also get him a filter? Is there anything else I need to fix?
