How to put it in servicemode

Hi everyone,

I’m working on an Audi RS3 8V and ran into an issue while replacing the serpentine belt.

Normally the belt tension is released using a 17mm socket on the tensioner arm. That point has broken off on my car. However, the center Torx on the tensioner pulley still works, so I’m using that instead.

I was able to remove the old belt, but when installing the new one I think I pushed the tensioner too far while trying to get it into the full release and broke off the socket

My question is:
Can I simply use the center Torx to rotate the tensioner back into full service position and reinstall the belt that way? Or is there a reset procedure I should follow because the 17mm release point is broken?

The bearing feels fine, nothing is grinding it just seems like I’m not getting the correct tensioner position anymore for reinstalling the belt.
