Insurance Renewal - Aviva
Hi everyone - just wanted to share something that may help others who are with Aviva.
My renewal is coming up and I got a renewal quote about 10% lower than last year. Which is good. I have fairly low mileage and 10+ years NCD.
Usually I'll go on Compare the Market and tweak everything I can to get as low as possible (without lying) car value, mileage, NCD protection or not, start date of policy. When I did this I got a quote for about 15% less then the Aviva renewal.
I couldn't contact Aviva on the phone, but their bot tole me they don't match renewal quotes. So I went to cancel the auto renew. Before I did it asked me if I was moving to a diff insurer and how much. I left this blank ( my new insurer wasn't on the list anyway)
Onthe final page before I cancelled they then knocked £100 off my renewal. Bringing the initial renewal offer down by about 20%, and a fair chunk lower then my the lowest quote I got on the comparison site...
So definitely worth following similar steps if you are with Aviva to save a bit of cash, as I know many will just auto renew if the price is lower/similar to save hassle.
