As the title suggests.. Is it possible to do for like 40-60 min gym sessions? It keeps snagging my leggings lol

So, my bf has a very hairy stomach and chest (which we both like) But sometimes he likes to do a complete clean shave of his entire body to "start over and re-grow". Is this common? What's the practical reason behind this?
