As the title says, is anyone actually working the audio engineer roles, and what are your backgrounds if so?

I cannot get my head around what the criteria are to actually qualify for these roles. Applied for all of them and despite having extensive experience and holding contracted titles that are the literal Micro1 job descriptions, I cannot seem to qualify for anything.
