My friend sent me a tiktok that said that someone told her "if that counts as SA then every woman has been SA'd"

I absolutely hate that this is even a conversation. Because yes. I think its so hard for me to name ONE woman that has not been SA'd and it's usually before they were even 18.

My friend who sent me the tiktok was a man. He didn't believe it and after i told him that SA was so common he said "youve been SA'd?" I've never told him my story before or anyone for that matter. I told him my dad used to force me to cuddle with him when my mom wasnt home to the point id get dragged by the arm if i refused. He laughed and sent a meme. I hate the "does it count" conversation because even if it's family, when you're young, or anything for that matter, it COUNTS.

This honestly makes me see him so differently that he really is just a man. I hope in the future people will truly see that the "1 in 5 women" statistic is already horrific, but it is important to consider that those only include the women who speak up.

Sexual Assault and Violence is common.
