I was doing buried echoes in ZoC and made it all the way to the control room, got the tool belt and read the logs and everything. I really didn't enjoy the Langston mine so I was trying to speed through it. I did go over the control room several times in effort to not miss anything important. Then I left and headed to the waterfall to lay the bones to rest. When I got there there was nowhere to put it which made me realize I didn't have the faded photograph and my log said I didn't finish the last step. I thought it was the bones that I needed to finish it. I really didn't want to go back into the mine so said screw it I'm just going to go to sundered pass to do the story stuff there instead.
I got all the way there and up on the weather station before I realized you can't do the sundered pass story unless you have already completed buried echoes. I had to turn the game off I was so frustrated. This is not the first time I missed something forcing me to walk back for 45 minutes. I'm a dad and only have a few hours if that to play each day.
Other things I've forgotten on this run: I repaired the transmitter in FA but forgot to flip the switch to turn it on. Went and repaired all the other transmitters and was in CH before I realized it. I also went to the bunker in HRV and thought I did everything and went all the way back to CH before realizing I must have missed a log book or something and had to go all the way back. I also went to a bunker and missed the thing behind the loose brick. That probably took the most time because I had to go around to every single map basically to figure out if it was just in a different bunker or if I actually missed it. Very annoying. I'm sure lots of people will tell me it's my fault for each of these. Maybe but it's still annoying.
