So I currently get 1Gig broadband from Virgin, I have for about 13 years. But one thing I have never managed to get, is a decent price from them.

I had hoped that the recent builds of openreach would have completed in time, but sadly they have no and my contract expires the end of this month, it will go from 49.99 to 85. The current cost is already way too much but I am somewhat limited to either paying or not.

Today I reached out to Virgin to say I want to cancel, we danced a little but in the end, it was not good. They offered me 1gig for 50, which is actually more than I currently pay. This obviously would go up twice too due to April price increases.

I have no idea how I am meant to get the prices others do. I even would be fine going back to o2 and bundling a sim (not been with o2 for over 2 years, unsure why my account shows volt), but even then the offers they offer me are insanely expensive. I just do not get why as customers of such a long term, we are treated so poorly.

Part of me wants to just cancel it all and go offline, but I work hybrid and also freelance, so cant really afford to loose the internet.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
