I’m curious how Amazon/AWS actually handles remote work + travel policies in practice, especially for NYC-based engineers.
I follow a pretty popular NYC influencer whose bf/fiancé works at AWS. They seem to travel constantly while he’s still apparently working full-time - since the beginning of the year they have traveled to at least three different states, each for like 1-2 weeks, and heading to Asia soon.
Are employees actually allowed to temporarily work from anywhere as long as their manager approves it? Or is this one of those “technically against policy but depends on your team” situations?
