Is it foolish to only try for a utility job?

As a family man this is honestly all I’d be interested in doing if I ever got into line work. Has anyone had success doing this? I know the “easier” route is usually getting a CDL then applying for the NEAT program to get in with a contractor(s), but that’s not for me

Best union gigs that don’t require difficult tests to get in?

I’m trying to break into the nuclear world. Currently working as a temporary nuclear worker, I just took the mass poss test and the tech B test, however I failed both of those so I have to wait at least 90 days to retest. It got me thinking, what are some other good gigs out there that don’t necessarily require you passing a test to break in?
