Lawyer was dishonest in convincing to do a PIA in a case that had no chance. Utah
Location: Utah
Case that would indisputably be dismissed.
Lawyer originally said it would be dismissed and then shortly after said the fastest way to be done is a PIA (which the other lawyer proposed) which would be equivalent to "not guilty." I asked if it would affect background checks and he said it wouldn't or worst case it would show as "not guilty" while pending.
Lawyer had a one-time fee so wanted to be done as soon as possible with the least account of work.
Was unable to pass background checks. PIA is complete and even if it gets expunged teaching license is permanently revoked. Hundreds of thousands dollars lost at minimum.
Can anything be done?
