Would you work for Ceasar’s corporate or MGM corporate?

This past weekend I traveled to Tulum, MX. BEFORE I even left the states, I attempted to go on Chase’s website to notify them of my travel plans. To my surprise, there was an entire blurb on how customers don’t need to notify Chase of any travel. I have been using my SW Airlines Credit Card since February with no issues. However, when I tried to rent a cart from Hertz at Tulum, the deposit they attempted to initiated triggered a fraud alert on my account. I attempted to call both numbers on the back of my credit card to see what was going on with the card but I kept getting “Our offices are closed at this time, please try again during business hours”. I eventually ended up calling the Chase debit card hotline number since I figured the debit card department HAS to be open due to the amount of customers they have. The lady in the debit card department told me that I needed to speak to the Security department on MONDAY…..2 days INTO the trip in Tulum, MX and 1 day before I had to fly back to the states. That sh*t right there pissed me off because why is the security department and fraud department closed on the weekends for credit cards, especially for a TRAVEL credit card. I finally was able to talk to a rep today about the issue and vented to her about my frustrations with them. Not sure why I even did that as I’m 100% sure she’s not going to pass my feedback along anyways. After I pay this card off, they will have one less customer. I have a very low tolerance for BS from corporations that operate on such a large scale like Chase, I know they won’t be losing any money, but I really wish U.S. regulators would keep these corporations in check when it comes to consumers. SMFH.
EDIT: For the record, they DID NOT call, email, nor text me about the fraud alert. Only reason I knew it was a fraud alert was because both numbers on the back of the card kept redirecting me to the fraud department instead of customer service.
TL;DR Make sure you CALL Chase to notify them of your international travel plans, even though they INSIST that you don’t need to do that, especially if you barely use the credit card.
