I need some advice

I need some advice

Sorry for the bad quality but i need some advice.

Im a 18 years old beginner and self taught on concept art/character design (i study a lot watching videos, reading books, cheap courses etc) and im making my frst project for my portfolio, i still have a long way to go i know but i need some help, so if anyone could reply to this i would be grateful!

This project is for a game (it wont actually be released)

First, i want to know if you can tell what my character is just based on looks and just know if the design is good in general (i will resume it on the end of the post)

And i want to know if this drawing of her is good for the showcase of the character or if i should make another one with better posing idk, i probably will drawn a turn around too

At the same time i feel like im doing a good job i also feel very insecure and scared i wont be good enough, even tho its my first "big" project, i thought about everything already and wrote the Briefing of the world, characters, story and im so happy about it but when i start creating i get super insecure, so if anyone could help with some advice about anything it would be nice

This character is a samurai apprentice and artist, she loves art and implements it on her clothes and accessories, she fights because she doesnt wanna be weak and likes to protect People. Always after training she likes to draw the katana fights movements on her parchments (i think thats the word), her favorite brush is on top of her hair and she carries it around just like she carries her drawing/painting stuff and katana. I liked the idea of her having a big hair, and i wanted to make sure its clear that shes an artist and samurai.

I wont talk more about the story cuz i prefer letting it more confidential for now but this is some stuff about the main character!

I think thats a strange question or maybe even stupid but im in doubt. So im talking about character design, yk when you finish your design and has to draw the character rendered to showcase on portfolio etc, and i was wondering if i should do it super rendered with lots of details on the painting (like: realistic gold, realistic fabric clothing, heavy lightning and shadows) or just paint it more simple, sorry if i didnt explain it very well

(my focus is character design for videogames)
