New to 6.0 is my high oil pressure oil pump going out?
Hello everyone!! I recently got a Used ford f-350 with a 6.0 Engine I’m new to all of the 6.0! I picked it up 2 days! See it on Facebook first time started up fine like a charm, drive it 10-15 mins checked everything, looked good, was talking to the seller, gave him what he asked, turned the key drove it about 45 mins home, stopped at my wife’s parents show them, the truck, turned it off talked with them for 15-25 mins turned key made it back home, next day got home from work started it up let it run for about 10 mins turned it off( waiting to get it to my local mechanic for a tune before driving it) and we come to this morning, I started it up,let it warmed up 5-10 mins drove it to the mechanic, turned it off, my father came and picked me up at the mechanic I have turned the truck off,this was his first time seeing it, I wanted to turn it on for him this is where it all happens( Ive been used to turning normal keys and kicks over instantly) I went to turn the truck on after 2 cranks I assumed it was going to turn on and it never turned) I panicked and waited 5 mins turned it over and wouldn’t turn over at all, I was really worried this was the first time problem, I even started the ignition to let the glow plugs do there thing and wasn’t turning over, I was very worried and paranoid about 35-45 mins later I drove back to the shop and went to start it, took a couple cranks and it cranked over I was relieved, what was I doing wrong? Is my high-pressure oil pump going bad? Thank you all!
