VSRP VISA Application

Hi!

I have a question since I am a bit confused. I am supposed to fly on June 8th to KAUST, and I received a few days ago the email about the start of the VISA application process.

However, I asked them, and still not get a reply, should I book the flights before or after applying for the VISA? Also do I have to book the flights or they do it?

If anyone has any advice of how their process was I would love to hear about it!

Hi’

I am coming here to explain a bit who I am, and I ask for honesty, since I don’t know if my profile is good enough to universities like Oxford (where I want to do my PhD in Oncology). Because I talk with many friends about it and they think I do have a shot… but at the same time I feel it’s not enough. Am I being crazy or realistic?

I graduated from a BSc in Biotecnology (GPA 9.1/10 or 3.65/4 depending on the scale you use xd). During the bachelor’s degree I did 3 internships:
- 9-month bachelor thesis on cancer biology/cell culture
- 3-month external internship on computer fluid dynamics
- 3-month external internship in EMBL-PI Lab of genome editing in which I got funded by NextGenerationEU (Once the article is published I will be within the authors)

I am currently doing my MSc in Biomedical Sciences in one of the Leading European Research Universities. During the 2 years of my masters I will do the following internships:
- 6-month internship at the CNRS in France (in which I will publish a review as first author and I will be within the authors of a paper)
- 5-month internship at KAUST (a fully funded research program I got selected into, with a high probability of getting an article published as well)
- 2-month literature review (mandatory for my program) which I am doing under the supervision of a researcher at the University of Oxford proposing a possible mechanism in which I would love to further continue into a PhD research program (the review will also be published, and the supervisors knows I would love to do a PhD under its supervision)
- 9-month internship at CAR-T cells lab in the Netherlands (this will happen at the same time I will be applying for PhDs)

I omitted all the sections about volunteering or leading/board roles in various organisations both during my BSc and MSc since I don’t think it matters a lot.
