I really like the look of the Lampshade knobs, and I was thinking about upgrading my PRS SE Standard 24-08’s Speed knobs.

What do you think about this? As far as I know, the SE Standard 24-08 was discontinued in the 2024 model year, so none of them featured these knobs straight-out from the factory. How well the newer knobs perform compared to the old ones? I don’t care about push-pull performance, since the 08 wiring with the mini toggles.

I would be happy to hear your thoughts about this.

As a player, I have multiple electric guitars, and some of them have screaming harmonics (pinch, natural, artifical, whammy tricks) with extremely long sustain, really easy to get harmonics out of them, but some of them are much quieter in that regard. I mean, I can still get harmonics out of those guitars, but it is much harder to do so.

As a luthier, what do you consider as the “secret” behind how good the final guitar will be regarding harmonics? Is it in the wood, the construction, or the electronics? What do you think about this topic?
