Ideas for a What We Do in the Shadows Deck
Hi everyone! I've been wanting to build a vampire decks that is not using [[Edgar Markov]] as the commander, since I really love vampires but people hate Edgar lol. I've been toying with the idea of making a What We Do in the Shadows themed deck and proxy a bunch of legendary vampires as characters from the show. Like [[Olivia Voldaren]] as Nadja. I first decided to go with mardu commanders since it includes most of the legendary vampires, and I think it'll work pretty good. Some ideas:
- Use [[Shanid, Sleepers' Scourge]] as the commander, taking benefit of all the legendary vampires. And I can proxy it as Guillermo
- Use [[Bruse Tarl, Boorish Herder]]//[[Sengir, the Dark Baron]] as the partner commanders, with Bruse as Guillermo and Sengir as Nandor.
- It'll be a casual vampire tribal deck, with lifedrain/lifegain/aristocrat as the main synergy.
Good thing about this is I can include all these mardu vampires and use them as alternative commanders. I can throw Shanid, Bruse, Sengir, Olivia and maybe [[Licia, Sanguine Tribune]] all in the deck and every time I can try out a different commander. I can even just swap to use Edgar if the group is feeling a bit more competitive.
But when I was looking for Colin Robinson, I feel like he has to be [[Mirko Vosk, Mind Drinker]] and [[Szadek, Lord of Secrets]]. They are just so fitting and blue feels correct for energy vampires. But if I want to add blue into my deck, I will have to use probably [[Kenrith, the Returned King]] as commander and make it four-color, and lose the ability of changing alternative commanders.
So I'm here looking for some ideas on how to build this deck and maybe other suggestions for commanders/colors. Thank you all!
