Just unboxed my Kelly 25 HSS Black Shiny Alligator with Brushed Gold Hardware from Jim and I have to say, the quality is outstanding.
The shiny alligator has a luxurious depth and natural texture that feels very premium in hand. The bag holds its shape perfectly with the right amount of structure and softness. Stitching is extremely clean and consistent, edges are smoothly finished, and the brushed gold hardware has a nice solid weight with smooth functionality. Overall construction, lining, and small details are all top-notch. After proper inspection, this piece easily sits in the highest mirror-tier range. Very impressed.
What’s disappointing is seeing how hard one user (u/hartofalyon) is working to sabotage Jim’s reputation these days.
This person suddenly appeared, created their own little subreddit r/RepHermesQC (which they conveniently moderate), and is now running a full-time campaign against only one seller. A supposed 11-year-old account with barely any real posting history, zero transparency, and all their energy focused on posting negative takes, “non-trusted” lists, and cherry-picked criticism specifically targeting Jim. Other sellers get mild, almost polite comments just to maintain the illusion of fairness. It’s not subtle anymore. It looks like a personal vendetta disguised as “community help.” Creating your own QC sub and then using it mainly to attack one seller while positioning yourself as some kind of authority feels very manipulative. New buyers can easily get fooled by this kind of organized negativity.
I’ve seen enough in this community to spot when feedback stops being honest and starts looking like an agenda. Real experiences matter more than loud voices from hidden profiles, and my bag is yet another proof of that. I was recommended to Jim by one of his regular customers, and I sent them a longer message than this review - that’s how ever so grateful I am to them.
For me, this Kelly 25 HSS from Jim delivered exactly what I wanted. Extremely satisfied with the quality. And Jim was nothing short of exceptional throughout the entire process. Just sharing my actual experience as a paying customer.
