I’ve been box coloring my hair with permament color for 10+ years, every ~6 weeks. Usually with Loreal Excellence. Although I know coloring hair is damaging, it’s never been a problem. My long hair is generally smooth and shiny, and I’ve always been happy with the Loreal permanent color product.

This week though - I used Revlon’s Demi-permanent color product instead. It‘s made my hair feel dry, brittle, tangly, and looks dull & dry. 5 washes later, it’s still this way.

Is Demi somehow actually worse for hair than permanent color is? Is the Revlon demi product just total crap? I’m pretty sure I used it correctly and for the correct amount of time. The actual color turned out fine, but the condition of my hair now is really upsetting.
