I’m trying to make a sweater with a bunch of little patches on it and I have some beginner questions …
I see people recommending stick and stitch paper, if I don’t have a working printer what’s the best medium to draw directly on it? can I cut out small designs or do I need large sheets of the paper pinned down under my hoop?
if I’m using this, do I still need a stabilizer in the back? I plan on wearing the sweater and washing it and I don’t want my designs to get ruined. I see people recommending cut away for wearables but I wasn’t sure if I need to embroider with stick and stitch on the front and the cut away stabilizer on the back or if I can iron on the back-stabilizer at a later time?
also is it better to make patches on a separate piece of cloth and then stitch them on? or just sew directly onto the sweater I’m making? I’ve seen that people leave it up to personal preference. I’m curious what your input would be regarding this - thank you!
