I am pursuing an ambitious robotics project currently with a team and I am in charge of hardware procurement. I spend way to many hours tracking packages, making sloppy excel spreadsheets, chasing components from different vendors, finding suitable replacements etc... and was wondering if anyone has struggled with this same issue and what methods/tools they used to manage all of this more efficiently.
Please feel free to respond to this post or message me directly.
Hello,
Me and my friends are planning on starting a relatively large robotics project. I recently was the finance and procurement manager for a project I recently did at school and was surprised by how much time it took to order the parts that everyone wanted, track the components, make sure they are all organized etc.......
For this next project I am again taking on this job and am not looking forward to having to spend so many hours each week managing procurement for everyone's prototypes. How have other people managed hardware procurement?
Are there any tools that people use to streamline ordering components, tracking shipment times and finding good replacements?
