Timeshare Packages
A few months ago my dad told me he bought a deal from IHG and told me he’d bought it a while back because it was a good deal and he wasn’t going to be able to use it within the year time frame. He sent me the receipt so I could call and book it I guess but I did some research first and I’m pretty sure this is part of their timeshare promotions.
It seems like the package deal is offered to rewards members (I am not), as well as certain qualifications to purchase the packages. I do not meet the $50,000 requirement that they’re asking on their website, I just want to use a free vacation and idc sitting through a 2 hour meeting.
My question is: is the deal transferable to other people? If I get this booked under my dad’s name and show up without him will they turn me away or charge me retail? If I make it though check in without issues can I lie my way through the timeshare meeting or will they ask for proof of income? (I know I can say I’m not interested and no for 2 hours, that’s fine).
For all the people that are going to say “call and ask”, I’m going to do that too. I just want real answers from people who don’t want money from me.
TLDR: my dad bought a timeshare vacation and I want to know if I can use it without issue, without my father being there.
