It’s insane to me how exaggerated the differences are between peer schools on this sub. Like yes Michigan is ranked higher than Cornell but there is no meaningful difference in their outcomes. Yes NYU is ranked higher than Berkeley yet, once again, students get incredible, borderline identical outcomes at both schools. Of course some schools have strengths in one area over another but those differences are in my opinion negligible and largely self selection at that caliber. I think sometimes we all forget that we’re talking about the TOP 14 SCHOOLS IN THE NATION. You can land any job in any city you want with these schools with some effort. Just go where you would be happiest/ makes most sense financially !!!!
Maybe a hot take, but I also don’t understand telling ppl to choose HLS over any other school if costs r similar. I get it, it’s HLS, but what if someone doesn’t vibe with the culture? What if they hate the location? What if they want to be close to friends and family?
Idk just wanted to share that it is 1000% okay in my opinion to not go to the absolute top school you get into if you don’t like factors seperate from prestige.
(sincerely, someone who is turning down a top t14 school that gave me more scholarship than a bottom t14 purely because of location reasons and personal happiness )
