Not sure if this is the right place to rant about it but it still makes me so angry I do not have words.
My toddler is turning two this weekend and a good part of my husband’s family flaked. Again.
My mother in law has a massive family with seven siblings and they each have kids, some of which also have children around my kids age. But they never show up despite complaining my kid doesn’t spend enough time to know her cousins.
It stings because this happened last year as well for my kids first birthday. They all flaked last minute. And my husband is not estranged or anything, we see them upon occasion for get togethers and holidays.
Now when her cousins who are all around the same age on that side have a birthday the whole damn family shows up and makes a big deal but with my kid they just don’t.
We aren’t any further of a drive than some of them and my family shows up and my husband’s father’s side are all elderly but they always make the drive and attend.
I know we don’t need them there, it just rubs me the wrong way and angers me. My toddler is too young to notice it yet but I worry about when she starts to….I don’t want her feelings hurt by their stupidity because we do still see them for get togethers.
