I am in the process of choosing cabinets for my kitchen and like the look of photos 1-3. From the websites where I found these inspiration pictures, these are walnut cabinets. I love the warm red tones that are visible. I am considering Barker RTA walnut cabinets with a clear coat, but photos 4-6 from their cabinets, the walnut looks like it is a lot darker and more chocolate brown than the red tones I like. I read that walnut lightens over time to become more blonde, but a lot of my inspiration pictures are from new renovations. So my questions are :
- what type of walnut cabinets should I be looking for to get the red, warm tones?
- will the darker walnut cabinets lighten to the tones I like over time?
- should I be looking into another wood all together , (such as cherry) with or without stain?
