Ok first of all i (37F) realize that these professionals see all types of things when someone’s coming off of sedation so i shouldn’t care. And really im just overthinking and ruminating on it so I just need to get it out.
Yesterday I had dental surgery where they had to put me under sedation. I was already nervous about this mostly because I’ve seen videos of people saying crazy things lol. And my mom knew this. Well afterwards they wheeled me out to the car all drugged up feeling like I’m drunk. And the nice girl (who I had chatted with before the surgery) was telling my mom all the things I should and shouldn’t do. “No drinking from a straw, no carbonated drinks, sleep with head elevated, nothing too hot or too cold, no alcohol….” And my mom interrupts and says “you hear that (name)! No alcohol!” I in my drunken stupor looking 2 sheets to the wind say “I don’t even drink that much” to the girl. She giggled cause i literally looked and sounded plastered saying it. But anyways… I DONT drink that much! lol like literally a couple drinks per month at that. Why did she cut her off and say that at alcohol and not like “can’t use a straw!” You know ?? Something I do everyday! I used to drink in college a lot and it felt like my mom was talking to my 21 year old self and not my nearly 40 self! Lol I donno. Just embarrassed me for some reason and now I’m down from the sedation high and still mad about it 🤣
