Hey there. I’m literally brand new to this so I apologize in advance if I’m using incorrect terminology with some things (please correct me!) Was reading up on others’ experiences with the GATE testing as children and was reading a bit about the history behind it, stumbled upon the name Robert Monroe and the article happened to link the first chapter(?) to listen to. Out of curiosity, I decided to lie in bed with my headphones on and follow along as best as I could, given that I’ve never meditated nor dipped my toes into anything even remotely adjacent before in my life. Nothing too crazy happened, but when it got to the point of completing resonant tuning, my eyes started rolling back and my eyelids were twitching rapidly involuntarily. I was certainly intrigued by the end of it, so I decided to continue further. I found the entirety of wave I on YouTube, so again, I laid down with headphones on and continued further. Got interrupted by ads three times before signing up for a free trial of premium as to have an uninterrupted experience. But finally, I was able to relax and to try my best to focus. I had pretty intense phosphenes going, and a purple-ish haze with what appeared to be possibly weird faces flashing in and out subtly behind the veil of the purple haze, as well as both singular eyes and pairs of eyes (very hard to make out and would appear very subtly and briefly for a split second, but I could tell nonetheless they were there). It was about 11:30PM and was pretty exhausted even before starting so I actually ended up falling asleep, but could still very coherently hear the audio continuing in my dream and was very lucid but not to the point of being in control of my body, or anything around me.

I’m going to try my best to describe this part here, I’m happy to elaborate more if there are any questions. I remember being on a stone path floating in a sky. One end lead to what appeared to be a dead end with a nether portal looking structure from Minecraft going around the end of the path (idk how else to describe it), but it was also made of the same dark grey stone material as the rest of the path. There were no clouds to be seen, just a bluish/white atmosphere and myself on the path. At the opposite end, turned into this stone pit (same material) that was really deep and was empty at the bottom, completely unlit with the only light source provided by the sky. I remember going to the first described end of the path first, lying down, and hearing the frequencies cut through super loud, feeling as though I had to try my hardest to endure listening. There was also what appeared to be a sun absolutely beaming on me at the same time, and yeah just feeling that overwhelming feeling of needing to try to fight my own anxieties and stay despite the overwhelming amount of dread I was experiencing in the moment. I got to a point where I could not take it, so I floated my way very fast to the top of the pit, jumped in, landed at the bottom and looked up at the top and once again felt this overwhelming amount of dread and kept jumping to the top and deciding to jump back in again. I repeated this process a few more times before I went back to lying down with the sun glaring at me before I couldn’t take it anymore and woke up.

The 4th chapter(section?) was probably a couple of minutes away from ending with this jarring frequency playing. Took my headphones off and took a second to process what that was all about. My guess is I fell asleep around 11;30PM-12AM and woke up at 1:20AM. It is now 2:10AM. I am a very traumatized, highly anxious individual who has severely repressed several memories and emotions from early childhood into young adulthood, battled drug addictions. I don’t know if the dream was a reflection of that or what. All of that being said, I felt compelled to share after reading so many others’ anecdotes and hearing about their experiences. Maybe someone could provide some insight or point me in the right direction about how to continue my journey in all of this. Thank you.
