Moving from Southern Maine to Philadelphia

My partner and I (in our late 20s), are seriously considering moving from Southern Maine to Philadelphia.

I am graduating nursing school and my partner is currently completing a pre-apprenticeship and plans to join a union (he's considering laborers or sheet metal).

I lived in Portland, Maine for 7 years and miss living in a walkable area where there is a nightlife and plenty of things to do. My partner believes there will be a lot more construction job opportunities in Philadelphia.

We are feeling financially squeezed living in Southern Maine - The rent is out of control here. We currently pay $1600 for a very tiny apartment in a car-dependent area where there's not much to do.

I've lived in Maine almost my entire life and it doesn't feel great to think of the possibility of never experiencing anything else. Everyone talks about the quality of life in Maine though and there ARE things to do but you have to drive to everything. Does it make sense for us to move?

Switching from the ring because of high blood pressure

I am 28 and I have hypertension that is controlled by medication. I've been monitoring my blood pressure at home for about the last 6-7 months. Even with medication, I'm usually elevated but I've noticed that when I remove my birth control ring for my off week, my blood pressure seems to go down. My readings <130/80 have mostly been on days that I have the ring out.

My provider recommended the hormonal IUD as an alternative as it is progesterone only. I'm a little nervous about the insertion but I think I can handle it.

Any advice on what I should do? Should I go with the hormonal IUD?
