On this Sunday 19 April, some outsiders (basti people) beat our 3-4 students in the evening in front of the Hostel I Main gate. After nearly 3 hours some cops arrived in front of main building when Student Council along with students protested. The officials of college arrived 10 minutes late after the cops. And what was the result of the discussion with police and officials that 'We will pickup the culprit's father and eventually the culprit will come and we will ask him to apologise to the students to whom he beat.
There are many and many flaws in this all, and I am writing this so as to take the voice of the college students to a bigger level.
The so called security guard, better called home guard, what was he doing and what were his responsibilities, where was he when this all happened. Some sources say that he was present there and just watching and not doing anything, and when asked to the guard why he did not do anything, his reply was 'The student could have called 100s of student why he didn't do so'.
If you know about NIT JSR college, this college is open campus, means anyone can come and go without any proof or guarding. Rash driving, high speeding and harassing girls is common in campus. No actions has been taken for it.
There are least possible security and vigilance cameras in the campus. Last year some mobile phones and laptops were stolen from Hostel I (I can't confirm if some student or outsiders did it).
There are no I'd cards or uniforms for the workers and staff working here, some there can be times when some outsiders come and do m**der or r**e and no one can be found guilty.
In recent days water filter was not working for over a month, after many and many complaints it was fixed 2 days ago. The supervisor and warden are just for the sake of name. They will only work when 100s of student will knock their doors.
There are very few women security guards for the girls hostel and one old monk who is actually a security guard.
Here security is set so as to let the incident first take place then we will react and try to cover our mistakes.
