My collection & 1 learning

My favs ranked in order

1 - BDC Parfum
2 - TDH Eau Givree
3 - SWY Intensely

I’ve samples for probably 10-15 different perfumes as well, most interesting among those

1 - Helfeti
2 - Noir de Noir

Most important learning in my journey: Having one good quality bottle is better than having 4-5 cheaper ones.

Hello guys, can you drop your recommendations for perfumes for the price range which fall under “Blue” / “Green” categories. Suited well for warm tropical weather, clean and fresh scent profile.

I already have BDC Parfum, Sauvage EDP, so please exclude those.

I’m thinking of PDM Parcival right now but I’d love to hear recommendations.

I’ve been living in Philippines for 9 years now and it feels like the good times are behind me. I’m not too old to blame it on my age, I’m currently 31yo which is considered fairly young in PH.

I’ve been feeling this lately, the nightlife in Metro Manila has been changing for the worse, most of the bars and clubs are empty with paydays(especially the ones falling right before weekends) and special days(like first day of a major holiday) being slight exceptions.

This is predominantly observed in Makati Avenue where I used to party a lot. I’ve also had my fair share of going out in BGC but makati was my preferred choice as it has always been more pocket friendly.

The bars and areas which used to be crowded at 10pm on a Tuesday night before covid seem to be dead even on a Friday night now.

I’m also feeling the trademark Filipino hospitality has been going downhill significantly which in my opinion is the biggest reason why most foreigners are avoiding Manila now in favor of Bangkok, even more than it used to be.

I’ll share one of my personal experience, there’s this shisha bar I have been going to for a long time (Hossains) and they used to be more accommodating in past, for last 1-2 years whenever you go there you’re hit with EXTREMELY LOUD music and there have been so many occasions where me and a friend were the only people there and we asked them to reduce the volume cause we couldn’t even hear each other talk, but they straightaway refused in a very rude manner. I’m using this just as an example, I feel like this is same for most of the bars and restaurants in Makati now, they’re not warm, they’re not accommodating and they are rude. I think this doesn’t happen so much in BGC.

Most of the nice sports bars have turned into girly bars which are mostly empty. And speaking of girly bars, they used to have a personality before, like a theme which offered something unique, performances, light hearted goofiness and a lot of laughter. Now all girly bars are straight up women wanting to chug as many drinks as possible in least amount of time.

If things don’t change, I think nightlife in manila is gonna be a thing of past.

Having said that, I’d love to hear your perspective on this. Also, would love some suggestions on which parts of the city are still “happening”
