Is it normal for first gen (revamp) Tamas to be so hard to keep alive?

I'm not well versed at all on tamagotchis but I love them a lot. I have one I found in a store at some point. Pretty sure mine's the new remake of the oldest generation ones.

Point is, I struggle a lot to keep my tama alive for more than 3 days. I turn away for a minute after making sure all stats are up? Dead. I wake up a few minutes later than the tama does? Dead. I have one hour absolutely mandatory when I can't interact with it at all? Dead.

Is this normal for first-gens, or am I just bad at taking care of it? I love the concept, I know it's something that's not for everyone, and I get that it's something you're meant to be taking care of almost constantly. But I don't imagine most people are able to stay with it and carefully watch it from 10am to 8pm.

Any tips are greatly appreciated, or to be told what I'm doing wrong. I always make sure its weight is low by playing a lot, I keep hunger and happiness at 3-4 hearts constantly, I flush when needed and use the cure if it ever gets sick. However it feels like if I don't pay attention for 5 minutes it just dies.

Not sure if I'll also make a SpeedPaint for some, but I'm open once more to draw y'all's furbs for free!!

Send a picture of your floofball and I'll reply right back to ya when I'm done!!

I don't expect lots of people so if I end up getting like 20+ furbies pls be mindful I might not be able to do them all,,
