Turn the sound up! There’s something hypnotic about the rhythmic clatter of wheels while watching the clouds move over the Bukhara desert. This is the Talgo 250 (Afrosiyob) in its natural element.

Note: I recorded this from the train's technical compartment, so the mechanical sounds are much louder and more raw than what you’d hear in the passenger cabin. Real "railway ASMR" for those who love the machine's heartbeat.

A rare moment at Tashkent.

On one side — the legendary Spanish 'Afrosiyob' (Talgo 250), which revolutionized travel here.

On the other — the new challenger from Korea, Hyundai Rotem.

They met today in the very heart of the high-speed rail maintenance center. Spain vs. Korea: when these giants compete, Uzbekistan wins!

The VL60k was the first mass-produced Soviet AC electric locomotive. Finding one in such condition with the factory markings is quite a treat for any rail enthusiast.
